Freedom Isn’t Free

Freedom isn’t free, it usually comes with a hefty price tag. Whether you are talking about virtual freedom or freedom of expression, it all comes with a price tag. My initial costs in starting this site came at a negligible cost of $50.00 for a package upgrade to add the features we need to make this site a viable news & opinion aggregator, but I am discovering new possibilities each time I delve into what the optional upgrades for this site entail.

I discovered that I can add a plugin that will allow anyone who signs-up and supports this site to create a profile of their own, and post whatever they please, and in effect turn this site into a social network where they can add friends and communicate with them, in addition to posting their own blogs, etc. But (and there’s always a “butt” involved, it seems) there is this little financial issue that requires me to upgrade the site at a cost of $20.00 a month, billed annually to be able to add that feature to this website. I’m a working class stiff, and don’t have that much extra money in my budget, so I either need to find somebody who does or find a way to generate the needed funds by donations to make this dream a reality.

Buddy Press is the plugin that would enable all devotees of Kek to have a place they can speak whatever is on their minds without fear of censorship. NO Fascistbook, NO MeWe, NO Zuckerfuck, and NO Weinberg. It seems that if you have the suffix “berg” in your name, it automatically predisposes you to censorship. Well, I’m here to tell you there are no “bergs’ associated with this website.

BuddyPress is focused on ease of integration, ease of use, and extensibility. It is deliberately powerful yet unbelievably simple social network software, built by contributors to WordPress.

Registered members can create profiles, have private conversations, make connections, create & interact in groups, and much more. Truly a social network in a box, BuddyPress helps you more easily build a home for your niche community.

So how many shitposters can we find who want a place to call “home” where they can post whatever the hell they want to? If this sounds like a cause worth a donation, please post a your comments below this blog. I want to hear your feedback.
